Over 675,000 social organizations registered in China

China had over 675,000 registered social organizations as of the end of the third quarter in 2016, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said Thursday.

The organizations include 328,000 social groups, 342,000 social service agencies and 5,204 foundations, the ministry said in a statement.

Huang Shuxian, minister of civil affairs, called on the organizations to provide quality social services.

The minister urged civil affairs authorities at all levels to work with other authorities to improve their capabilities in supervising and serving social organizations. Endi
